H2O Dear

I love water. Of all the drinks that ever came into existence, water is by far my favorite. I’ll admit that, since marrying my dear husband, the world of soda pop—my previously appointed “off-limits” zone, except on special occasions—has been reopened to me. He loves the stuff. And I find myself giving in to the now-in-easy-reach varieties more and more often.
Yet even more than pop, Mike loves milk. But he’s picky about his milk. If it is 1%, 2%, or whole, or has been opened for more than three days, it is considered vile. I was raised in a 1% drinking family, but Mike assured me that I would come to the skim-lovers side of things quickly. And in fact, now days I do find myself tapping into the milk-jug more than just to pour it on my cereal. I find my relationship with milk increasing. (Yet I still don’t mind 1%.)
In fact, Mike, an avid drinker all-around (nonalcoholic, of course), has introduced me to a plethora of liquids which fill me with pleasure. One of these- a Mexican brand called Zuko- comes in flavors likes lemon-lime, pineapple, and mango (my favorite, though hard to get your hands on).
But finally, I must admit, with all of this variety to choose from, I still come back to my precious water. I love it and doubt that it will ever be replaced.

The Unveiling

Ta-Da!!

(One from the side for your viewing pleasure)
** I'm nearly 7 months pregnant at this point and I keep getting told that I don't look it. But I definitely don't feel that way. Especially cause this shirt used to be one of my "big" comfy ones.

Fishy Business

We have a fish tank that contains two rather large and oddly shaped fish. These two are the only remaining survivors from a previous array of about 10. Yea. They all died.
The good news is that these two were also our more costly pets (coming in over .25 a piece).

One of these fine fellas we affectionately call Hicky, named for his unusual markings and even unusual-er method of swimming. If ever a fish waddled, it was this one.

Well a bit ago, Hicky had a near-death experience and has never really been the same. He began performing some acrobatics, such as the one at left, that were quite impressive. I honestly was beginning to think the poor fish was just attention starved.
Then I began to realize he really just can't help himself. He seems to be top-heavy. Or something.
He really takes it like a champ though. He's mastered the art of swimming upside down and he spends his "spare time" lying in this position at the bottom of the tank (and no he is not dead).
I'm completely baffled and sometimes wish I just understood fish antics. Any ideas?

Boys

Well I suppose the news should be written here, though most know by now. After a fairly interesting (but fun) ultrasound it has been determined that a BOY is coming to our little home. We're eXtremely excited! I'm pretty sure Mike is even more excited about the gender than he lets on (although I know he would've been pleased with the pink variety as well). Thus far he has proved amazing with children of all sorts. When we've had the pleasure of babysitting neighbor's children, he is generally the more effective tear-stopper. He's gonna make one great papa. :)
Yesterday Mike finally had a day off- as in, he didn't go to either of his jobs. To our delight we're having a little onslaught of family visitors and so decided to spruce up the house. We even raked up all the crab apples off the lawn and then made banana bread to make the house smell nice. It's funny that when parents come to call, we feel an even bigger urge to clean. We wouldn't want Mom to think all the years of chores didn't teach us right. :) ha. But ultimately I was just pleased at how rewarding it was to work next to my husband. Fantastic!
Note: I know we've promised more up-to-date pictures, but for the moment our camera-less existence is not being captured on film. We're working on it.

Uhh...

So today I got my first official belly rub. I had been warned that it would happen, and it did. There is just something about pregnant tummies that people cannot resist- be they familiar with said belly-bearer or not. Quite funny to me, seeing as mine is still quite miniscule (for a belly). I suppose I'll get used to it though.
