Boys

Well I suppose the news should be written here, though most know by now. After a fairly interesting (but fun) ultrasound it has been determined that a BOY is coming to our little home. We're eXtremely excited! I'm pretty sure Mike is even more excited about the gender than he lets on (although I know he would've been pleased with the pink variety as well). Thus far he has proved amazing with children of all sorts. When we've had the pleasure of babysitting neighbor's children, he is generally the more effective tear-stopper. He's gonna make one great papa. :)
Yesterday Mike finally had a day off- as in, he didn't go to either of his jobs. To our delight we're having a little onslaught of family visitors and so decided to spruce up the house. We even raked up all the crab apples off the lawn and then made banana bread to make the house smell nice. It's funny that when parents come to call, we feel an even bigger urge to clean. We wouldn't want Mom to think all the years of chores didn't teach us right. :) ha. But ultimately I was just pleased at how rewarding it was to work next to my husband. Fantastic!
Note: I know we've promised more up-to-date pictures, but for the moment our camera-less existence is not being captured on film. We're working on it.

Uhh...

So today I got my first official belly rub. I had been warned that it would happen, and it did. There is just something about pregnant tummies that people cannot resist- be they familiar with said belly-bearer or not. Quite funny to me, seeing as mine is still quite miniscule (for a belly). I suppose I'll get used to it though.

Sister Dyer

Christine Suzanne Dyer has been called to serve in the Santa Rosa, CA mission!
My dear friend, you cannot know how much fun it is to see this finally fulfilled for you. It's crazy to think back on our many conversations of future endeavors where this was discussed. Haha. You did it! I am sometimes in awe of the very different paths our lives have taken us when we once dreamed (and talked and thought...) so similarly. And I sometimes wish that my path had taken me to the mission field as well; But I cannot express how right this feels for you (and I know this is right for me). For the loyalty of a friend like you I am eternally grateful. Thank you for your always understanding support and genuine interest in the seemingly mundane aspects of life. I am glad to have shared it all with you. Best of Luck! (And you know there will be severe penalties for not writing.)

It's Over!!

Well, one more semester has happily come to a close here at BYUI. I just submitted my final, final and decided to celebrate by permitting myself to waste time on the internet. Hooray! I am severely looking forward to 7 weeks of freedom, which I will use to finally clean, organize and decorate our little house (which has been in a constant state of disarray for the past few weeks). We still have boxes that need unpacking. . . BUT, Mike and I have great plans to finally use our camping gear. I'm pretty excited about that too. And perhaps we'll get a little swimming time before this hot weather runs away.
In other news, my clothes no longer fit, which is not exactly happy, but exciting. I find myself LOVING snowcones from the local Snowie place (I can never remember it's actual name...) and not enjoying Jambas as much (I feel slightly like a traitor). We will have to see how my attempt to keep working through August goes. The long hours on my feet are being completed with increasing difficulty. But in a few more weeks we'll know if its a boy or girl! AND Lindsey announced that her third will be only a few months behind ours. That made me extremely excited too.
And now our little town is beginning to empty. It is amazing how quickly it happens. Finals are done and the freeway exits are packed. For the next several weeks the population will dwindle and Broulims grocery will finally have a good cereal selection. That ALWAYS gets me excited. :)

Boredom Buster

Saturday nights are oh so much fun! Tonight Mike and I are doing homework (sort of) at the family history center on campus. I'm a little bored so I thought I'd share a few pictures. We've officially been married for 7 months now and here are some highlights. This is a ridiculous one from New Years Eve 2007. We rarely stay up that late. It was really rough on us. And next New Years could likely be spent at the hospital! hah. I can't wait!!

This is Mike and his Christmas present from Jesse. He loves that thing. Too bad it's $5.00 for every hole in the wall.

Rexburg is basically empty in the winter. Sledding down the road proved very enjoyable.
And then we buried each other in the snow.

This is Mike's 23rd birthday party! He's so old. :)
